Q.1. what is your opinion about the architecture scene of Bangladesh right now?
In the last twenty years due to the rapid growth of urbanism and rise of the middle class, there is a need for new development in housing, workspaces and civic facilities.
Nowadays architects are successfully involved in housing, commercial, socio-cultural facilities and industrial development. Along with these major areas of development, architects are working in different sectors like informal settlements, slum upgrading, rural settlements, infrastructure planning, urban design & landscape etc.
It is positive that architects are extending their services at different layers of the society.
Q.2. What according to you is the future of the architecture in Bangladesh?
Architects were previously involved mostly in building architecture. Now the profession has been expanded and very wide in nature. It is extended from furniture design to building, cities and regional development.
I think in future architecture will make a large impact in shaping the urban and rural environment in Bangladesh.
Q.3. A piece of advice for young architects who want to build a career in this field?
Young architects who want to build a career should feel the need to build a physical environment as such that it should be committed to a natural and built environment and also beneficial for present and future generation.

Architect Ehsan Khan shifted from Dhaka to Mymensingh to pursue his degree in Architecture from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).He has designed prominent hotel s like Amari and Lakeshore Hotel. He has also designed the Mausoleum of the founder of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Gopalgonj. Ehsan Khan was nominated for Aga Kan Award for Architecture in 2010 for designing Nishorgo Oirabot Nature Interpretation Centre.
