17th National Furniture Fair Begins in Dhaka
The 17th National Furniture Fair was inaugurated on October 6, at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital on Thursday. Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) president Md Jashim Uddin inaugurated the fair where Bangladesh Furniture Industries Owners Association (BFIOA) Chairman Selim H Rahman was also present. The fair has been organized by Bangladesh Furniture Industry Owners Association.
BFIOA Senior Vice President KM Akhtaruzzaman, Secretary General Md Elias Sarkar, Vice Chairman and Convener of the fair committee Sheikh Abdul Awal, and Organising Secretary A Karim Mazumdar were also present on the occasion.
At present, furniture products from Bangladesh are exported to India, Nepal, USA, UAE, Bahrain and European Union countries. The main objective is to boost local furniture brands, to increase furniture export, and to exchange experience and technology for the further development of the furniture industry.
There are 182 stalls of 34 companies including Hatil, Akhtar, Navana, Pertex, Regal, Nadia and Brothers. The fair will continue till October 10, from 10am to 6pm at ICCB’s hall-1 and hall-2.
