Bengal Foundation launched a special festival named “Srijone O Shekore” on 14th December celebrating the Golden Jubilee of Independence at Bengal Shilpalay, in Dhanmondi.
The festival features a variety of cultural segments including an exclusive group art exhibition, short film screenings, live music shows, dance recitals etc.
A group art exhibition titled “Shwoparjito Prithibee – The Earth in Our Hands” was inaugurated at the Quamrul Hassan Gallery of Bengal Shilpalay. Professor Abdul Mannan, former chairman of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh inaugurated the group art exhibition which features artwork and performances f 19 talented artists crafted at the exclusive art camp at CRB, Chattogram.
There were many Chattogram-based artists including Alak Roy, Mong Mong Sho, Jayatu Chakma, Joydeb Roaza, KMA Qayyum, Mamur Ahsan Mahtab, Md Joynal Abedeen Azad, Nazlee Laila Mansur, Niloofar Chman, Rasel Kanti Das, SM Reyad, Sanjib Barua, Sanjib Datta, Sanjoy Kumar Das, Sanjoy Sarker Akshoy, Satabdi Shome, Sharad Das, Sreekanta Acharjee, Subrata Das, Zahed Ali Chowdhury, and Zihan Karim participated in the art camp which allowed the artists to reach out to the society and direct public attention to the urgent task of preserving the natural environment, against the background of the ongoing movement to preserve the CRB grounds known as the lungs of the Port City.
The exhibition will be open at the Quamrul Gallery until January 4th 2022.
