World Press Photo Foundation and Drik Picture Library hosted the World Press Photo Exhibition 2022 at Drik Gallary, showcasing the wining works from the 65th annual World Press Photo Contest. The exhibition was inaugurated on November 5 and was open to all till November 21.
The exhibition displayed the most powerful, challenging and courageous photojournalism and documentary photography from across the world, made in the past year. This year World Press Photo presented a new regional model to give exposure to work underrepresented in the past, and to showcase the incredible photojournalistic talent to be found globally. In this, the 65th edition of the contest, 4,066 photographers from 130 different countries entered 64,823 photographs. Winners this year were mostly from the region they were photographing, often working at great risk, and offering access to stories we might not otherwise have seen. The exhibition shared the work of the 24 photographers whose work stood out as exceptional, in the hope of contributing to a truthful and insightful understanding of the world around us.
