“Think global; however, stay true to your roots.”- Alak Roy
- What is your opinion about the art scene of Bangladesh right now?
Each individual believes in expressing themselves in different ways, but art is definitely a significant one that is wide spread in variety of forms. The society, political situation, economy and information technology decides on its figure and becomes the roots of different opinions as well as debates.
- What according to you is the future of art in Bangladesh?
There was period of time when culture of different regions couldn’t cross paths; even if it did, there was massive consideration and differentiation was causing alteration in the dignity of a culture. At this point of time, with the help of information technology, all barriers are removed. Instead of preferences, the culture and its root are given priority than any individual’s opinion. As a result, despite of all the new challenges that are coming on the way, the artists are able to overcome them and reach new heights. Even though Bangladesh has been facing multiple complexities in preserving culture but that could not take away from the fact that many changes have come towards the positive direction.
