Indian Council for Cultural Relations and Bengal Foundation hosted the launching ceremony of a published book on Rokeya Sultana’s work and the solo art exhibition by Rokeya Sultana. The book launching ceremony and exhibition were held on Monday, 6 JUNE, at Rabindra Bhavan Art Galery, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi.
The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, and Dr. Vinay Sahasarabuddhe, President ICCR, was present as a chief guest. Rokeya Sultana, an award-winning Bangladeshi printmaker and painter, obtained her post-graduation degree in fine arts from Vishwa Bharati, Shantiniketan, under an ICCR scholarship in 1983. She received recognition in the 9th Asian Biennale, and the National Art Exhibition in Dhaka and the 3rd Bharat Bhavan Biennale in India.
