Residing on the 13th floor of Dhaka Nikunja Khilkhet, the Bangladesh Power Equipment Manufacturing Company Ltd. (BPEMC) has taken a bold step by relocating its senior executive team from a factory setting to a vibrant corporate office. Designed by Courtyard Architects, this space redefines the typical government office by adopting contemporary modernism.
Spanning 3,200 square feet, the new office is all about openness and innovation. The design avoids the traditional dark wooden palette often associated with government buildings, choosing instead for ash wood finishes paired with a sleek white ceiling. This choice enhances the airy feel of the workspace, ensuring it is inviting and bright.
“Transparency in design reflects our values of professionalism and a global outlook.”
The layout features full-height glass facades that provide stunning views of Airport Road, the Dhaka Elevated Expressway, and surrounding greenery. This transparency reflects the company’s values of professionalism and global outlook, making it ideal for hosting foreign meetings. The office includes a variety of spaces such as CEO rooms, open workstations, meeting rooms, and a boardroom—all designed to promote collaboration and communication among team members.
The reception area impresses visitors with an acrylic ceiling and warm track lighting, creating a sophisticated atmosphere. The reception wall, made of rustic metal HPL and enhanced with backlit CNC-cut elements, serves as a striking centerpiece. Nearby, a stylish metal box with board accents adds to the contemporary charm.
“This office redefines the typical government space, embracing openness and innovation.”
The open-plan layout encourages teamwork, with desks arranged in clusters to foster a sense of community. Vibrant ash and yellowish carpet areas introduce a dynamic visual contrast, while cozy furniture, like the punchy orange sofa in the lounge, invites employees to relax and recharge.
The BPEMC office is a perfect blend of modern design and functionality, setting a new standard for government offices in Bangladesh. This innovative workspace not only reflects the company’s corporate identity but also creates an environment where creativity and collaboration can thrive.
