IAB Gold Medal and IAB Awards 2020 Handed over in Hybrid Ceremony
Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) held a hybrid ceremony to declare and hand over the IAB Gold Medal and IAB Awards 2020 in a ceremony in Dhaka on Monday. The ceremony held in the Multipurpose Hall of the IAB headquarters at Agargaon, Dhaka, was conducted in the presence of a handful of eminent guests and also showcased through a live broadcast on the IAB FaceBook page.
Due to concerns over the global Covid-19 situation at present, the organizers decided to hold the hybrid ceremony while maintaining the proper hygiene measures.
The ceremony kicked off with a welcoming speech from IAB President Ar. Mubasshar Hussain.
Ar. Bashirul Haq was posthumously awarded the IAB Gold Medal 2020 at the ceremony. In total 2 awards, 1 honorary mention and 12 commendations were awarded under 12 categories.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony, Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman, who was also the first general secretary of IAB, and IAB chairman, handed over the awards.
In his speech, the Hon’ble Minister congratulated all the winners and called upon the architects to devote themselves to the service of the country and the nation.
Asian Paints Bangladesh Limited General Manager Mr. Budhaditya Mukherjee also delivered his speech of gratitude. Asian Paints Bangladesh Limited was the sponsor of the ceremony.
The ceremony was formally concluded with a vote of thanks by the General Secretary of IAB, Ar. Farhana Sharmin Emu.
